While on the road at the hotel, follow the signage in the form of graffiti instructions by the artist Patrik Wolters, also known as BeNeR 1 from hanover, who also significantly influenced the second FREIgeist hotel in Einbeck. The main artistic contributor to the project is Frank Kassner, who also leaves various creative marks in the hotel. For example, the wall-filling paintings with Pippi Longstocking in the fireplace lounge, Pinocchio in the restaurant INTUU, Icarus in the hotel lobby, etc.

Being relaxed makes you more creative! Special features include the five event rooms on the ground floor, the largest event room "Library" with direct access to the courtyard, and the nearly 300 sqm rooftop terrace. The 400 sqm courtyard with a container bar, our Fatboy lounge for relaxing in between, and our open foyer kitchen with a free-standing island block that connects all event rooms. Here, documents can be spread out and sketches reviewed, but also joint sushi courses for watching, participating, or tasting can take place.

Your four-legged companion is always warmly welcome with us. For an additional charge of € 15.00 per night per animal, we provide a water bowl and a Fatboy dog pillow for your dog's night.
Emergency Alarm
In the event the fire alarm goes off, immediately leave your room as shown on the evacuation plan on the inside of your room door. If you need assistance, inform the reception immediately. Then wait outside the building at our assembly point located in the courtyard at the container bar. Follow the instructions of our staff and the fire brigade. Re-enter the building only after consulting with a FREIgeist member or the fire brigade.
Equipment
All 118 rooms are fitted with oak wood floors and feature floor-to-ceiling (3.14 m), soundproof windows with a glass railing.
Box spring beds with ash wood headboards ensure a restful sleep. Individually selected design objects like handmade chairs from the Dutch company PolsPotten, a side table from the Belgian company Notre Monde, and a wardrobe in retro fridge style from NTS Tischlerei Linden in Uelzen add a special touch to the rooms.
Free Wi-Fi, a Sony Smart TV, and a 360-degree Bluetooth speaker from the Danish lifestyle soundbox brand Kreafunk in rose gold provide good entertainment. In the bathroom, the care products are from the Swedish natural cosmetics company LA:BRUKET, which is inspired by the Baltic Sea's water, salt, and algae.

Looking for a cool location in göttingen for your event? Many things are possible with us: From cocktail courses for a bachelor party, family events for milestone birthdays, or even a popular choice – weddings on the rooftop terrace overlooking the city! Family Room
In true family style, we have designed FREIgeist rooms that are connected by a small entrance hall. We also have rooms with connecting doors. Please mention your preference to the reception before booking and we will find the perfect room for you. We are happy to provide cribs for our little FREIgeisters.

HERBARIUM Bar
The HERBARIUM Bar revolves around the six life phases of the plant world - from seed to soil to leaf, then to wood and bloom, and finally to fruit. Under these six categories, guests can find a total of 16 signature drinks with unusual flavors such as fennel, caraway, or coriander in our bar in downtown Göttingen. Fresh herbs are harvested directly from the vertical herb garden on the bar's back wall and processed. We work closely with the team of the Old Botanical Garden to find new impulses & ingredients in nature. The source of inspiration was the naturalist & founder of the Botanical Garden in Göttingen, Albrecht von Haller.

Got a stain on your trousers or a wrinkle in your shirt? No problem – we'll take care of it! For urgent cases and minor defects, please feel free to contact the reception. Sensitive or heavily soiled garments are gladly taken to the local laundry for cleaning during usual business hours. Please inform us by 11.00 am. at the reception, and you will receive your garment back by 06.00 pm. Please use the card in your wardrobe for labeling and filling out.

Rooftop Terrace
The 300m² rooftop terrace overlooking göttingen and adjacent landscapes creates a beach atmosphere high above the city with fine sand, wooden planks, sun sails, and Fatboy hammocks. Here one can enjoy a sundowner or network in the outdoor lounge chairs in a particularly pleasant way. In the summer, an after-work party is also celebrated here during the week.

In our FREIgeist Hotels, the interim cleaning of your room is done on request. For stays of more than three nights, interim cleaning is done automatically by us.
Would you like cleaning in the meantime? Just hang the corresponding door sign on your room door or let us know at the reception. If you just need a few fresh towels, a new soap, or similar, please give us a quick sign.
This way, we can together save on resources we don't need, from cleaning agents to electricity and water.

On the fourth floor above the rooftops of Göttingen, you can find deep heat in the circulation-friendly infrared sauna, and in the Finnish sauna, you can sweat while overlooking the city. In the nearby Fatboy lounge, you can cool down and stretch your legs. A spa bag with towels and a bathrobe is available at the reception. The three WOHNzimmer are each 24 m² and are furnished from A to Z for creative, open work. The centerpiece of each room is a large table made of old elm wood, whose solid top is 2,4m long. Around it, the tinkerers, thinkers, and leaders gather on a carpet.
