Christmas market Göttingen

Around the Old Town Hall and the imposing St. Johanniskirche, more than 70 festively decorated wooden huts invite you to stroll, enjoy and linger. Those looking for original or useful gifts will find something at the handicraft stands. The youngest Christmas market guests will get their money's worth in the nostalgic Viennese Hochrad or in the fairytale witch forest. Culinary variety is also provided. The offer ranges from classic bratwurst to Alpine cheese specialities to Finnish flamed salmon. Not to forget: the many mulled wine variations. But the Göttingen calendar of events is also full in Advent: Every day the cultural offer at the Christmas market changes. Festive concerts take place in the Old Town Hall and in the churches. The Tourist Information Göttingen also offers atmospheric city tours under the motto “Göttingen at Christmas time”.
